Before watching this movie itself I heard that this is a remake of a foreign language movie named 'Butterfly on the wheel'. Sadly I had seen the original which was released on 2007, a Pierce Brosnan starred Canadian thriller movie. I saw two three areas where it is mentioned as a remake of 'Butterfly on the wheel' but I wonder whether is this an official remake of the originals?! If its not, then its plagiarism and its yes, it should have mentioned in the title card but what was in the title card is rather crazy...
Translated by Anoop Menon@!!!

Plot: A very happy family, one kidnapping, one phone call. Now everything is upside down. The story is about Ravi and Parvathi who is running a very successful, happy family life with their kid, until they are informed by a stranger (Venkatesh) that their kid is kidnapped. Now Venkatesh black mail them for money, documents etc.. but what they learned within few hours is that the kidnapper doesn't need their money but their happiness.
Story, Screenplay and Direction: Story, screenplay, dialogs and direction are directly copied from 'Butterfly on the wheel'. Still debut directer Arun Kumar (Editor / assistant of Priyadarshan Movies - I heard this somewhere - and after watching the movie I was confirmed) had done a good job because even an experienced person will feel hard to take a very clear xerox copy. Arun Kumar had tried his maximum to give a Malayalam touch, a desi touch to the treatment.
Dialogs are very good, well done William Morrissey - he is the original writer (I was not aware of the name of the original writer, thanks to google for helping me to reach out for the same). I have to mention this because 'We are not thinking about the writer who wrote the Malayalam translation 'Ente sathyanweshana pareekshanangal', but we do think about the original writer of the original version 'My experiments with truth'. The situation is very same here, even the dialogs are mere translation of the original in 60% of the scenes. Anoop Menon is a good researcher because he well found out that the best way to receive respect and reputation in Malayalam industry is to copy some other language movie (its should be a foreign language - Sreenivasan, Priyadarshan, Kamal). He had done well. Almost a scene by scene, frame by frame is same except there is one or two scene extra ( Interestingly, that is one of the best part of the movie ).
Forgetting all these things - this movie is a good one, I am now talking about the Malayalam movie. Its a well written and well directed movie.
Technical aspects: The costumes, unless like other recent Malayalam movies, strikes well here - its very good.
Music: Songs are average or below average (I didn't bothered about that). Background music is good and just helped the movie to add tensions in many scenes.
Performances: Jayasuriya is in the lead role (Replacement of Pierce Brosnan) had done a commendable job. He is very convincing and shows a lot of growth with respect to his eye contact and body language. He can well grow  along with Prithviraj and Narian if he selects good characters here after (I feel Prithviraj, Narain, Jayasuriya are already selective and very promising for Malayalam industry). Then, Samrutha - this is her life time performance. She is very natural and not like most of the recent actresses, actually earlier, I never felt that Samrutha can act well. Anoop Menon is good looking, have a Malayali feature overall but not convincing in his performance (I liked his in 'Thirakadha', but not in any other movie). The fear, tension are not visible in his face at any time. He is a far better writer than (Good translator) than an actor.
Overall: Film is a good one, very enjoyable, entertaining, technically well presented movie for all those who had never seen the original. Far better movie than any recent movie released in Malayalam Language. This film has the capability to grasp the attention of the viewers.
Box Office Prediction: Very good scope with its narration but need more advertisement mainly because of the less popular artists which is usually effecting the business in Kerala. Aggressive marketing can make this movie a well needed HIT.

A Good adaption, a good thriller in Malayalam after a long long time.
Rating: 74%
