Rajinikanth's next movie is officially announced as 'Rana'.

There was many rumors going around that 'Rana' is none other than 'Sultan' but now its official that 'Rana' is a completely different script. The film will be another mega budget action extravagant to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Rajinikanth's star value has grown never before high for an Indian actor after the phenomenal success of Endhiran around the world. Almost every technical unit of Endhiran is retained for 'Rana' also. Sunil Lulla, Managing Director of Eros International Media Ltd said 'Rana is going to be a completely different movie and Super Star Rajini will be donning a triple role in the film'.
There were rumors that Deepika Padukone will be the lead actress of the film but was never got any official announcement. At the the same time news from the Bollywood states that Deepika Padukone has left from the big budget Hindi movie - Houseful 2 and the reason was unknown. Now, the news states that Deepika opted out of the Hindi movie for his career growth - that one of the biggest offer was on the way to her. Rana. Rajinikanth's collaboration with K S Ravikumar: Blockbusters Muthu and Padayappa. Muthu was dubbed in Japanese 'Mutu - Oduru Maharaja' and was a huge grosser and the Rajinikanth became a household name in Japan. Its not easy to forget the special note about the movie 'Muthu' mentioned by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Shingh at the National Diet of Japan in Dec 2006 regarding the reach of Rajinikanth among Japanese. Padayappa was one of the highest grosser of all time in down south till Rajinikanth's own Sivaji released.
Rajinikanth's collaboration with A R Rahman: This is the 5th Rajini film with A R Rahman music after Muthu, Padayappa, Baba, Sivaji and Endhiran. Each film except Baba was the biggest grosser in Tamil cinema history at the time of its release. And Endhiran went on to become the biggest net grosser of all time in India.
